WONDERING WHAT TO READ NEXT?
Use the resources below to help you choose your next book. Or, you can always ask next time you're in the REC*Center! Note: you may need a code to view your peers' Flipgrid videos, but don't worry--it's on our bulletin board just inside the door.
Start by checking out students' book recommendations on our Flipgrid. Any student (or staff member--you might see teachers and other school staff on there, too!) can post a recommendation. Two important things to know before you post:
- Mrs. Warr will review each video before it becomes public. Keep it appropriate!
- Please only post with your initials, and don't say your full name. For your safety, we'll have to delete any videos that mention students' full names.
In addition to others' recommendations of their favorite books, here are more ways you can find your next great read:
- Fantastic Fiction: learn more about your favorite authors and find all the books they've written (note: contains adult titles, too, if the author also writes for adults)
- What Should I Read Next?: you type in the name of a good book, and the database gives you similar suggestions
- What's Next: Books in Series: if you're just looking for the series, order, this is your easiest bet
- YALSA Book Finder: database of books/authors that have received awards, so you know they're good
- Look around the library for themed displays and new books
- Ask friends and adults!
If you see this sign, you've hit the jackpot and found some of our fantastic new books! New books are always available for checkout.
Don't forget to tell us what you think when you're done, and if you REALLY love it, post a video recommendation on our Flipgrid!
